This page contains information on the basics of my cupboard – that is the items I always make sure I have on hand so I know I can make something amazing at short notice.
Now that I see it in a list, it looks like a lot, but these are things you can slowly build up and they last for a long time.
Canned Goods
- Black Beans
- Chickpeas
- Coconut Cream
- Corn in Brine
- Straw Mushrooms
- Tomatoes
- Tuna
- White Beans – Cannellini or Butter
Grains and Pasta
- Bulgur Wheat
- Israeli Couscous (also known as Dried Moghrabieh)

Sauces, Stocks and Condiments
- Capers
- Jalapenos in brine
- Lemon Juice
- Lime Juice
- Maggi Gravy Powder (yup, I know, but it is so easy)
- Mayonnaise ( Kewpie is my go-to)
- Mustard – Dijon, American and Seed
- Oil – Olive and Sesame
- Olives
- Peppercorns in Brine
- Pickles
- Pomegranate Molasses
- Soy Sauce – Light, Dark and Golden
- Stock Cubes – various
- Stock – I love Campbells stock but recommend the low-salt version
- Tahini
- Vinegar – Balsamic, White and Vinegar
- Worcestershire Sauce ( I swear my youngest drinks this stuff!)
